Congratulations to Sarena Williams for her fifth Grand Slam at Wimbledon on Saturday, and her 14th Grand Slam title. Our favorite tennis diva has struggled with health concerns for the past two years. We’re happy to see her back in stride and she is too. Her Grand Slam titles are posted below.

Dwayne Wade to Have Surgery

NBA Champ Dwayne Wade will miss next month’s London Olympics due to necessary knee surgery. The Miami Heat guard played through the entire postseason in pain.

The surgery hasn’t been scheduled but will happen soon. It’s basically a “cleanup” procedure. Wade should not be on crutches for more than one day. He hopes to begin training camp with his team this fall. Source

Erin Andrews Leaves ESPN

It’s official. Sports reporter Erin Andrews has separated from ESPN. The network wants to make it known that they did make an aggressive offer to keep her. Fox is reported to be in hot pursuit. Fox Network declined to comment. Source

Greg Kelly Goes From Good Day to Nights

Roger Clemens Not Guilty

Seven-time Cy Young Award winner Roger Clemens was acquitted this week on six felony charges related to use of performance-enhancing drugs. The former Yankees pitcher gave an emotional and brief statement at a press conference following the verdict on Monday.

Clemens is not out the woods yet. He still faces a civil trial. Former trainer Brian McNamee is suing him for defamation. A hearing in that case is scheduled for next week. Source

Mariano Rivera’s Not Going Out Like That

Don’t count Mariano Rivera out yet. Although the Yankees closer tore the ACL and meniscus in his right knee on Thursday, he said he’s not going out like that. Rivera said he expects to return for the 2013 season. He’s scheduled to meet with the Yankees team physician on Monday. Source

NFL Star Junior Seau Dead at 43

Former NFL star Junior Seau was found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest on Wednesday. He was 43 years old. Mr. Seau led the San Diego Chargers to Super Bowl victory for the 1994 season. He also played for the Miami Dolphins and the NE Patriots. Source
